Friday Evening:

A Minack Theatre Performance

For those with time on the Friday evening, it would be well worth booking tickets to the folk music on show at the Minack Theatre. A great opportunity to meet up and socialise with the group. More importantly, a visit to the Minack Theatre is on many people's bucket lists. We highly recommend coming to savour the incredible views from an amazing coastline theatre, like no other!

Tickets can be purchased directly from the theatre for Friday 28th June and we are heading for the cheapest seats in section G:

Saturday Walk:

The Minack Theatre to Lands End

We meet at Sennen Cove and catch the 30 minute public bus ride to Porthcurno Beach, which lies in the shadows of the Minack Theatre.

The walk starts with a steep uphill climb, as we pass behind the entrance of the theatre and then follows a beautiful stretch of coastline all the way to Lands End. Here we saviour being at the first/last point of England. Before our final leg drops back down into beautiful Senne Cove, from where we started the day.

The Details:

  • 9:15am meet at Sennen Cove bus stop *
  • 30min public bus to Porthcurno Car Park.
  • 10:00am walk start from Porthcurno back to Sennen Cove. 
  • Approximately 10miles.
  • Duration 5+hours.

* there are 11 possible bus stops on route from Sennen to Porthcurno, so you may find it easier to hop on at one of those, depending on where you are staying and if the following stops are more convenient:

Sunday Walk:

Pendeen Watch to Sennen Cove

We meet at Sennen Cove again and catch the 32 minute public bus ride to Boscaswell, which is a short walk from the coastline.

We start our coastal trek from the beautiful one hundred year old lighthouse at Pendeen Watch, finally returning again to Sennen Cove. Located on Cornwall's rugged north coast, facing out into the Atlantic, there are said to be few better places than Pendeen Watch to look out for Dolphins, Porpoises, Basking Sharks, Seals and other incredible sea wildlife.

  • 10:00am meet at Sennen Cove bus stop**
  • 32 min public bus to Boscaswell Stores.
  • 11:00am walk start from Pendeen Lighthouse back to Sennen Cove. 
  • Approximately 10miles.

Important info:

  • A WHATSAPP group will be created to share info and photos on the day. In signing up to the event you are agreeing to be added to this group, which will contain other participants. This is necessary so that details can be shared in the run up to the event, including last minute changes, reminders or cancellations.
  • Charity involvement: many of our walks are being run in partnership with charities. As such, sign up information is shared with the charity involved for the purpose of running the event and communicating its purpose, which is to help raise awareness and funds for the charity. By signing up, you are agreeing to receive information from Get Outdoors and the charity.
  • Remember waterproofs, walking boots/shoes and a packed lunch & water.
  • Please note you may need to pay for parking.
  • Dogs are welcome, but are entirely the owner's responsibility and must have a lead and be under close control at all times.
  • If encountering livestock do not walk too close or get between a cow and calf. If threatened, let go of your dog so it can escape and reduce the risk to yourself.
  • Please keep to public rights of way and respect landowner’s property.
  • There are often stiles to negotiate on this type of walk.
  • Countryside walking can often include hills and uneven terrain. Our group ethos is to support everyone in group to achieve their maximum potential in terms of completing the route. As such, we endeavour to walk at a pace all participants are comfortable with. We apologise if this causes any frustration to fitter walkers.
  • Please consult your doctor if you are worried about your fitness to take part.
  • Please inform the walk leaders, Get Outdoors, of any underlying health conditions that may affect your walking ability before signing up.

Accommodation & Transport:

Participants are encouraged to book their own accommodation, but we do also have a limited number of rooms available, so please get in touch for details. Email info@getoutdoorsuk.org for details or if you would like assistance booking.

Transport is available from OX5 1RR and can be added from the drop down menu above. This will leave Friday morning and return by Monday evening.
